Mother's day
Yesterday was Mothering Sunday.
Mother's day is also called Mothering Sunday in the UK. Mothering Sunday (Mother's Day) is always the fourth Sunday of Lent.
Mothering Sunday is a time when children pay respect to their Mothers. Children often give their Mothers a gift and a card.
Many churches give the children in the congregation a little bunch of spring flowers to give to their Mothers as a thank you for all their care and love throughout the year.
This year, as I was not with my mother, I sent her a big bunch of flowers and a card with a special message to say thankyou to my mum.
Do you celebrate mother's day in Spain? Do you think it is good? Tell me about your traditions.

Yes, we celebrate the Mother's Day.
The first Sunday of May is celebrated in Spain on Mother's Day. In the weeks before this day, children in school, spend a few hours to prepare a gift for their mothers helped by a teacher from the school. This is a day spent with family, with special attention to mothers and grandmothers.

In Spain we celebrate the Mothers' Day the first Sunday of May, this year it's on the first of May.
This day people buy presents to their mothers and grandmothers, and also to other women who had take care of them, like aunts. Children also spend time preparing colorful cards for giving to their mothers, and also at school they write poems and so to give to their mothers this day.
The gifts that are usually given are: cakes, flowers, rings, bracelets, necklaces, a ticket to a relaxing place, etc.
I think it's a good idea to have a special day for mothers because they're always working for us, and taking care of us, and we don't thank that to them very often.
Yes, of course we celebrate this day, here,in Spain ,is the first Sunday of May. The children do in the school presents for their mothers and some fathers do presents for their wifes. I spend this day with my family and the protagonist are the mothers and the grandmothers.
In Spain we celebrate Mother's day(the first Sunday of May).
Specially the children make something special for their mothers, but people of all ages give to their mothers something special in this day.I gave to my mother any gift when I was child(when I was in the school),now no;)
In Spain we also celebrate the Mother's Day, but we do it the first Sunday of May. This day, we want to say thak you to the women that are important for us, specially to our mothers and grandmothers. Here, children and teenagers give some gifts to these women, such as, flowers, chocolates, cakes, bracelets and necklaces, and so on. They also make up some handworks to give as presents to them, for example, they make some colorful cards or some beautiful lines and poems, ...
I know that this celebration is also held in other countries, but it's so different depending on the country. It's very interesting to learn how the other countries celebrate our traditions, but in a different way.
I think Mother's Day is very beautiful and nice, because we use this day to be grateful for those women, who make us happier everyday in our lifes. However, some people think it's an invention by the florists and the shopping centers to sell more products and make more money, but I don't agree at all with them. :)
