Black History Month

This month is Black history month. Click here to see some information on the heroes of the Civil Rights Movement, including Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr who you have studied in your citizenship lessons.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

From the "I Have a Dream" speech, Aug. 28, 1963

I have learnt a lot with this wonderful activity.

I have sometimes heard of the Black History Month in USA, but I never knew what it was really. Now, I'm very interested in this event and I agree very much with it, because it commemorates all of the obstacles that Black People had to overcome to get freedom and make clear that they have no difference between White People, so they must have the same rights and the same duties.

I learned a lot from the activities I did in the citizenship class.
I agree that black people have equal rights and duties than whites.
I liked the activity we did in class because I learned a lot about this subject and I learned to think about it.
"I have a dream that one day all the people will have the same rights".

I've never heard about this month, but I've sometimes heard (in citizenship) about black people who fought for their rights and equality with no discrimination.
I think this is an admirable fight, and I like very much learning all the history as possible including this sort of interesting things.
This fight has not finished, I think.
But I think these people didn't waste time fighting for their rights and dignity, and some day they'll get their full results

With this activity made in Citizenship's lesson, I have learnt much.
I haven't heard nothing of this ( but in class of citizenship) but I think that the Black's person have the same rights and duties than the other person of different countries.
Also, Martin Luther King was a hero because he fought for society.

I liked this activity very much because I learned a lot of about Rosa Park and Martin King.
I think that Rosa Park was the more important black person because she did that the black or white people had the same rights. Thanks to she the blacks people today are happy and have suffer less discrimination.
I think that M.Luther king is a brave man.He fought for black people's rights.
